Remember, your resume is your “first impression” for a prospective employer. It should be the BEST representation of who YOU are. Always keep it professional!

Kay Fakelis-Colón is a proven career professional. She began her career as a job coach, while a senior at The Ohio State University,working to help people with disabilities assimilate into the workforce. From there she moved into the role of job developer, meeting with employers to discuss hiring people with disabilities as well as teach her clients job seeking skills. Wanting to stay in the employment field, but a different population, she became a recruiter for a privately held IT consulting firm.

Now she is the Assistant Director for a career center at a small private university in Ohio.

One thing that Kay has discovered is no matter the population, a successful job search has some very basic components. This blog will not only deal with the broad concept of the successful job search, but also the small things you need to do to stand out in todays job market.
